5 Keys To Managing Your Executive Job Search On LinkedIn
Over ten years ago, I worked in a private school in Nairobi, Kenya.
People who haven't had a chance to travel often have a skewed vision of Africa. I had certain expectations when I got there but I soon realized that I had been misled by things I had seen on TV about all the different aspects of that amazing continent. In any case, the one thing I can say about my experience there, it that I met the most interesting, most motivated and mature students of my entire carrier.

LONDON (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - At least 80 million children living in areas affected by war or natural disaster had their education disrupted last year, leaving them prey to child labor, trafficking and extremism, experts said on Thursday.
Many humanitarian aid appeals for 2015 ignored education, and aid appeals for education were only one-third funded. Overall, education received 1.4 percent of all humanitarian funds, British charity Theirworld said in a report.
"The new analysis ...(confirms) 2015 was a disastrous year for children who had their education disrupted by wars and natural disasters," said Susan Nicolai, head of development progress at the London-based think tank Overseas Development Institute.
"World leaders need to urgently guarantee that there isn't a future humanitarian emergency response where education isn't seen as critical," said Nicolai, whose institute's research produced the 80 million figure featured in the report.
I read an article a couple of days ago about two afghan sisters who were walking to school one day and got attacked by men who threw acid at them. They were teenagers, going to school. The men didn't want women to have an education. These girls are more determined than ever to go to school.
Business name, address and phone number should always be listed along with a business description, images and any specials to entice visitors to come to your site or visit in-store.
6. Align Yourself with Local Celebrities
High quality link-building is another essential asset to local SEO geniuses. To build high quality links, you need to focus on user-engaging content and stunning visual images of your business or products to entice customers to visit your page and store. Guest posting with locally owned blogs or partnering up with local causes, events and organizations can increase your visibility and start building a linking profile back to your site with well-known local sites.
In a conversation with a very good Ghanaian friend of mine more recently, we both agreed that in both cases, and in Africa in general, people see education as a privilege, so they make the most of it. She, too, grew up in Africa and came from a better off family than the average African, but she never took education for granted.
Over there, and in many other countries in the world, it is never a guarantee, when a child is born, that he/she will be going to school. So when you do, you appreciate it.
A contact page with name, address, phone number and map is also important for bringing in local traffic.
3. Placing Your Page in Places
Whether you use Google+ Business or Bing Places for Business, it's imperative that these pages are also optimized for your local audience. These listings will be at the top of any search results pages, and they show your specific store location on a map. To optimize your Places profiles, you should always have the profile completely filled and list the business address as well as contact details that are also shown on your business website.
Populating relevant sections of your LinkedIn Profile - your Headline, Summary, Experience, Contact information, and Education, at a minimum - will show your grasp of social media engagement.
While there's no "magic number" of Connections to cultivate in LinkedIn, Profiles of less than 100+ contacts imply an unawareness of online networking. It also follows that, as you welcome more Connections, you'll gain closer access to recruiters or other key people in your industry.

Businesses may also encourage visitors to leave reviews on Google, Bing, Facebook and other directories. Reviews are a two-way street. If you start asking for reviews, you need to provide the best customer service experience so that the reviewers want to leave positive feedback.
For a less-obvious job search, job titles can be added in the Skills & Expertise section, alongside your leadership competencies. Lesser-endorsed Skills will automatically drop to the bottom, where they're not displayed at first glance (and therefore not obvious to other users), but still count in your Profile SEO.
