Every time I surf the internet, I stumble on at least 3-6 "make money at home" or how a mom made thousands of dollars in one day pop-up ads. Although those pop-ups are scam sites, they prove the popularity of online work.

Part time jobs (side gigs if you may) are rare in the job market. The ones available are often accompanied by very meagre pays and a lot of time wasting. They are inconvenient, and frankly not worth the stress they bring. So part time regular jobs do not pay great; how about part time online jobs?

THE WHAT...

Part time online jobs may include:

1. Data entry

2. Surveys

3. eBook sales

4. Product advertising/promoting

5. Social media correspondence

6. Online tutoring

7. Editing/ Proofreading

Online jobbers as I like to call them may take up multiple jobs at a time.

THE WHY...

People take on part time work online for different reasons. I consider these, the major three;

1. The extra money. Part time online work generates extra income. Many employees take to these jobs to balance out their expenses so they don't run into deficit.

2. Leisure. Some people take on such jobs to block out idle time. This is very common among people who love to write. For many bloggers, it is passion before money.

3. Portfolio. Here's this one. Building of portfolio is very necessary seen as most schools, firms require portfolios for admission or employment, respectively. Many fashion ambassadors own fashion blogs where they post do it yourself (DIY) tutorials, market products and so on. The same is the case with many other fields.

THE HOW...

Coping with both full time and part time jobs at the same time can be very tiring and may lead to discouragement. Here is how to manage time and meet targets on both jobs

1. Make dailyto-do lists. To-do lists, simple as they might seem, are very good guides for busy people. They help prevent distractions and unnecessary multi-tasking.

2. Draw out weekly targets. Targets are not to-do lists. Targets can be made on a weekly basis. They help show progression or need for improvement.

3. Draw boundaries for yourself. There is work time and rest time. Overworking does not always mean hard work. There should always be at least seven hours mapped out for resting.

4. Never take up jobs you cannot complete. Combining two jobs is hard enough, there is no need to take on too much extra work. Take jobs that fit well into your spare time to prevent poor performances.

5. Select jobs that are fun. I like to write, so I have taken to freelance writing. Make the work fun for yourself. The money will always be a plus.

6. Get it together. No matter how many key notes you take, it will not work out if you are disorganized/ disoriented.

7. Always score yourself against your to-do lists and targets to make sure you are making progress.
