Another TOEFL is the paper-based TOEFL, or TOEFL ITP. It is part of ETS’s institutional testing program. TOEFL ITP is used within institutions for the purpose of placement or to evaluate progress of students. It is not accepted for entrance to universities.

Lord Justice Beatson also stated that where there are disputes of facts, as was the case here, these are rarely likely to constitute ‘special or exceptional circumstances’, partly because judicial review was not suited to resolve such issues. In addition, matters of procedural unfairness could be considered in an appeal and were rarely likely to constitute ‘special or exceptional’ factors.

How to master those skills and catch a recruiter’s eye was discussed in detail by Specialists from IIG Vietnam and HR Managers from Manpower and VP Bank. Besides, the students were provided with the most updated recruitment information from VP Bank, during which the recruiter advised that the students should actively add more experience in their CV by applying for internship in companies.

The Court held that the provision under section 10(8) of the 1999 Act, that is the notification ‘invalidates any leave previously given to him’ makes clear that from the date of notification, any leave a person had was invalid and did not draw a distinction between leave given under section 3 and leave automatically extended under section 3C. Such a distinction would produce ‘arbitrary results’. The Court also held that no assistance could be drawn from a section 47 removal decision as it deals with a different situation, relating to people that have complied with the terms of their leave but whose application for a variation of their existing leave will be refused for other reasons.

Mr. Ali applied to vary his leave on 29 December 2013. A decision was made to remove him on the basis that he had used deception in his application for variation of leave. It was alleged that his Test of English for International Communication (TOIEC) certificate issued by Educational Testing Services (ETS) was obtained by a proxy test taker.

Test Formats
The TOEFL is a four-section test that includes sections for reading, listening, speaking and writing. It is taken exclusively on the computer. The TOEIC is broken into two separate but complementary exams: the Reading and Listening Test, which is a paper-and-pencil test, and the Speaking and Writing Test, which is taken on a computer. The exams are broken up in this way so potential employers can choose to measure an employee's reading and listening or speaking and writing skills only, or all four language skills. The Reading and Listening Test will take about two-and-a-half hours to complete, and for the Speaking and Writing Test, the speaking section will last about 20 minutes, and the writing section will take 60 minutes to complete.

Another difference between the TOEFL IBT and IELTS is the Listening section. The IELTS Listening section has four recorded monologues or conversations. The TOEFL IBT has classroom lectures by teachers and class discussions by students.

The Seminar ended with enjoyment and good impression from the students at Thang Long University. It once again affirmed the determination of the school to integrate MOS into the school’s academic disciplines to enhance students’ IT proficiency up to international standards. As shared by the School Management Board, training students was not just limited to satisfying local recruiters but also for a broader ASEAN labor market, which will be integrated soon in 2015.
